AMMROC selected as maintenance service provider for the UAE Armed Forces GHQ

Abu Dhabi, AMMROC (Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Centre, or AMMROC, co-owned by Mubadala Aerospace, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation, yesterday announced it has entered into an agreement to provide maintenance services for fixed and rotary aircraft for the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces. This renewable agreement is for an initial period of 2 years, after which time the GHQ anticipates entering into a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) arrangement with AMMROC -- a paradigm shift for supplying military aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services in the UAE -- facilitating efficiency improvements in delivering such services. This agreement will enable the UAE Armed Forces to remain focused on the operation of their aircraft, while AMMROC will provide maintenance and repair services, streamlining various processes and optimising manpower for the UAE Armed Forces. This also reinforces AMMROC's vision to operate a world class facility providing a self-sustaining, and commercially viable platform for the UAE Armed Forces. Fahed Al Shamsi, CEO of AMMROC, in a press release, said: "Being selected as the maintenance service provider by the GHQ is a significant milestone for AMMROC, demonstrating the outstanding progress that has been made by the company in a very short space of time. It illustrates the level of trust that we have built with our most important customer and the ongoing commitment from our shareholders to build this capability for the benefit of the UAE." Launched in July 2010, AMMROC is a joint venture company owned by Mubadala Aerospace, Sikorsky Aerospace Services, the aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation. AMMROC is headquartered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. With the combined strength of the partners and an aggregate investment that exceeds US$800 million, AMMROC draws on decades of experience and expertise in aerospace engineering, material support, logistics, maintenance, component repair, overhaul and training, to deliver a fully integrated MRO support program by a single provider. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
