Silverstone To Export Tyres To Brazil, Argentina

By Luqman Nul Hakim Mazlan SEPANG (Malaysia), Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysian company Silverstone Bhd aims to export tyres to Brazil and Argentina early next year. "We already export our tyres to more than 60 countries in the world, I think we will start exporting to those countries three months from now," chief executive officer Paul Chan told Bernama after the launch of the Silverstone Atlantis V7 tyre at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here. Silverstone has emerged as a global tyre manufacturer exporting to more than 60 countries, including Australia, Japan, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Americas. The company's success story began in 1989, with a linear manufacturing plant incorporating modern facilities and comprehensive manufacturing test instruments and machinery, thus ensuring each tyre manufactured adheres to the highest degree of precision for superior performance. He said Silverstone expects to export more than 10,000 tyres a month to Brazil and Argentina. Meanwhile, he said the Silverstone Atlantis V7's unique asymmetric patterns provide superior grip, improved comfort and quiet cruising, adding the tyre is available in 11 sizes. "I am proud to say that the stopping power of the Atlantis v7 in wet braking is significantly improved, and this is an important road safety factor. Steering response and handling characteristics, such as cornering stability, have also been enhanced," he said. Chan said the Atlantis v7 has been fitted on locally-assembled Naza Fortes as standard original equipment since July this year, a testament to the high quaility of Silverstone tyres produced in its Taiping plant. --BERNAMA Malaysia
