PM Expected To Table Special Committee On Corruption Annual Report

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak is expected to table the Special Committee on Corruption Annual Report in Parliament next week. Committee chairman Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad said the report contained several proposals to improve the quality and efficiency of the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). "This is the second annual report and today (Thursday) we briefly explained the report to the prime minister. "We feel that the MACC, as an independent body, should be given enough personnel in combating corruption," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Thursday. Mohd Radzi said the report also contained suggestions such as on staff safety, increasing the number of investigating officers, allocation of funds and training. The proposed improvements are aimed at further lifting the image of the MACC. -- BERNAMA Malaysia
