90 Pct of Govt's Services To Be Online By 2015-MAMPU
PUTRAJAYA, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- By 2015, up to 90 per cent of government
services are targeted to be available as e-counter and online services,
according to the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning
Unit (MAMPU).
Its director-general, Mohamad Zabidi Zainal, said that by next year,
under the paperless government programme, 70 per cent of correspondence, memos
and minutes of meetings and 90 per cent of the calling of meetings would go
online.
"Apart from increasing the efficiency of the business concerned, the efforts
would also contribute to the strategic objective achievement for the green
technology initiatives in the information and communication technology
(ICT)business," he told reporters after opening a conference of chief
information officers here Tuesday.
He said the government is drafting new methods in ICT management, known as
Cloud Computing, and added that this has been applied in 36 government agencies
so far and would be expanded to 100 more agencies in the future.
Beside that, he said, MAMPU is always taking steps to ensure that the
security features in all systems and websites under its operation will be
difficult to hack by irresponsible people.
