Malaysian PM Launches Langkawi Tourism Blueprint Thursday

LANGKAWI, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Tun Razak will launch the Langkawi Tourism Blueprint to strengthen the tourism sector on the Legendary Island. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nor Mohamed Yakcop said Langkawi had world standard natural resources including the enchanting island, clean beaches and rich biodiversity. "We have a vision and objective for the next four years, there must be a blueprint to outline the strategy and initiatives so that the objective is achieved. "Langkawi must be developed as a sustainable tourist destination," he told reporters at a special briefing in conjunction with the launch of the blueprint, here Wednesday. He said the launch would be held at a leading hotel on the island at about 9am Thursday. -- BERNAMA
