Identity Of Whistleblowers Will Not Be Disclosed-Police

JITRA (Malaysia), Dec 27 (Bernama) - Kedah police chief Ahmad Ibrahim said the identity of whistleblowers will not be disclosed and urged the public to cooperate to combat crime and drug abuse. "We will strive to give the best service so that residential areas and business premises are safe, secure and free of crime," he said when opening a walkabout and Kubang Pasu District Police Crime Prevention Campaign here Tuesday. Ahmad said crime prevention requires concerted efforts and cooperation from relevant government agencies and the people so that it could be dealt with efficiently. "In Malaysia's plural society there is room for improvement. I am confident that close cooperation and good ties between the community and police can lower the crime index." Kedah police also plans to make new approaches in 2012 to reduce crime by focusing on campaigns and walkabouts in kampungs and towns at least once every three months. - BERNAMA
