Turkish-Russian trade volume reaches 30 bln USD in 2011, says Turkish Trade Counsellor Kizilarslan

MOSCOW (A.A) - December 28, 2011 - Turkish-Russian trade volume has reached figures of 2008 and was recorded as 30 billion USD in 2011. Speaking to the AA, the Turkish Trade Counsellor in Moscow Atilla Kizilarslan said that the Turkish-Russian trade volume was negatively affected by the global economic crisis. "However, Turkish-Russian trade volume has reached the figures of 2008. Turkish exports to Russia in 2010 were worth 6 billion USD. We expect Turkish exports to Russia to be worth 7-7.5 billion USD in 2012," Kizilarslan said. Despite the global crisis, we can reach a trade volume of 100 billion USD with Russia, Kizilarslan noted. Russia has abundant raw materials for businesses. I call on small and medium scale Turkish businesses to make investments in Russia. They can make investments in the fields of automobiles, textile goods, machinery, greenhouse cultivation and super markets, Kizilarslan also said.
