An investigation must be made on border incident, says EU Minister Bagis

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis, said Thursday that an investigation had to be made on the border incident that took place on Wednesday night instead of distortion. Speaking on private HaberTurk TV channel, Bagis stressed that once the details of the border incident become clear, appropriate units must assume responsibility. Bagis's comments came after Turkish jets hit a group that was approaching the Turkish-Iraqi border on Wednesday night. Turkey's south-eastern border with Iraq is frequently used by terrorists to stage acts. Touching on an Armenian resolution adopted at the French Parliament last week, Bagis said that French President Nicolas Sarkozy's only aim was not to win Armenian votes. The real aim for Sarkozy is to win the votes of Le Pen at the upcoming presidential elections, Bagis also said.
