Turkish exports up 18.5 percent in November

ANKARA (A.A) - Exports from Turkey increased 18.5 percent in November 2011 when compared to November 2010. The exports increased to 11.1 billion USD, while the imports rose 8.8 percent to 18.6 billion USD in November 2011 when compared to November 2010, stated TurkStat on Friday. Foreign trade deficit dropped from 7.7 billion USD to 7.5 billion USD in November 2011. The rate of exports' covering imports, which had been 54.8 percent in November 2010, increased to 59.6 percent in November 2011. In the first 11 months of 2011, exports rose 20 percent from 102 billion USD to 122.5 billion USD when compared to the same period of 2010. Imports in the first 11 months of 2011 also rose 33.5 percent from 164.9 billion USD to 220.2 billion USD when compared to the same period of 2010. Foreign trade deficit rose 55.3 percent to 97.7 billion, while the rate of exports' covering imports dropped from 61.9 percent to 55.6 percent in this period.
