U.S. deputy secretary of state due in Ankara

ANKARA (A.A) - January 8, 2012 - U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns will visit Ankara on Monday, diplomatic sources said on Sunday. Burns will meet Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu during his visit to Ankara that will last about 30 hours. The visit is important as it will follow Davutoglu's recent trip to Iran. U.S. sources say that this is an earlier scheduled visit. Burns is expected to discuss developments regarding Iran, Iraq and Syria as well as other issues concerning the two countries during his meetings with Turkish executives.
