NUMBER OF LIVESTOCK INCREASES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ By the end of 2011, 36.3 million heads of livestock were counted. Of them 2,112.9 thousand heads were horses, 2,339.7 thousand heads--cattle, 280.1 thousand heads--camels, 15,668.5 thousand heads--sheep and 15,934.6 thousand heads--goats. The total number of livestock increased by 3.6 million or 11.0 per cent against the previous year. The number of horse went up by 192.6 thousand or 10.0 per cent, cattle--by 163.7 thousand or 7.5 per cent, camel--by 10.5 thousand or 3.9 per cent, sheep--by 1.2 million or 8.2 per cent, goat--by 2.1 million or 14.8 per cent. Were lost 0.7 million heads of adult animals which is equal to 2 per cent of the total livestock at the beginning of the year. B.Khuder
