Petronas To Host WGC 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) will host the 25th World Gas Conference (WGC 2012) here from June 4-8, 2012 with the theme 'Gas: Sustaining Future Global Growth'. In a statement on Wednesday, International Gas Union (IGU) president, Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim, said the conference and exhibition will seek to address the seismic shifts and developments in the energy sector, with a major focus on the global gas industry. "As the spokesperson for the gas industry, IGU has initiated efforts towards advocating for natural gas, so that it will regain its appropriate policy voice, consistent with its merits and potential," he said. WGC 2012 is organised by IGU. It is sponsored and supported by Royal Dutch Shell, Qatargas, TOTAL, ExxonMobil, RasGas, GDF Suez, KOGAS and BP. WGC 2012 is set to attract over 5,000 industry professionals, 500 international speakers, 250 local and international media representatives, over 200 exhibitors and 10,000 trade visitors. -- BERNAMA
