Nicol Exact Sweet Revenge Over Massaro To Bag Her First Cleveland Classic Title

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (Bernama) -- Six-time world champion, Nicol David won her first 2012 Cleveland Classic Championship after defeating world number four, Laura Massaro in four sets at the Cleveland Racquet Club in Ohio, USA, on Wednesday. Nicol, 28, was however shocked by Massaro's neat game and lost the first set 7-11 before taking the next three sets to avenge her defeat to Massaro in last year's final. The Malaysian squash queen and world number one, took the next three sets 12-10, 11-7, and 11-8. In 2011, Nicol suffered a shock defeat to Massaro in her quest for her first Cleveland Classic title. Nicol booked her berth in the final after defeating Ireland's Madeline Perry 11-3, 11-4 and 11-6 while Massaro defeated Amanda Sobhy from the host country, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-6. -- BERNAMA
