Vietnam Foreign Minister On Two-Day Official Visit

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Vietnam's Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh (left) is scheduled to arrive here Wednesday for a two-day official visit, on the invitation of his counterpart Anifah Aman (right). According to a statement by the Malaysian Foreign Affairs Ministry, this is Pham's first visit since his appointment in August 2011. The ministers will discuss matters related to bilateral ties, and regional and international issues. The two nations have shared a strong relationship since 1973 and the meetings are expected to further strengthen these ties after the republic's President, Truong Tan Sang visited Malaysia in September last year. Malaysia is Vietnam's fifth largest investor at US$18.78 billion and the countries' overall trade between January and November 2011 stood at RM19.89 billion. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
