Terengganu State To Build Aircraft Maintenance Training Centre

KUALA TERENGGANU (Terengganu, Malaysia), Feb 9 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu (east coast state of Malaysia) government will forge cooperation with Taiko Aviation Centre in Xiamen, China to build an aircraft maintenance training centre in the state soon. Menteri Besar of Terengganu Ahmad Said said the state government would invest quite a large sum of money to build the training centre and its facilities on a proposed site near the Sultan Mahmud Airport here. "We have visited the (Taiko) aviation centre and their personnel will also visit our proposed site to assess its suitability. "If possible, we want a site close the airport because after repairing the aircraft, we can also test drive the aircraft on the airport's runway. If elsewhere, things will be more difficult," he told reporters here Thursday. Ahmad said students trained at the world-renowned Taiko Aviation Centre had better chances to secure jobs at any airline company worldwide. "Trainees from Taiko can work in any airline company in the world. I was also informed that there are 50 students from Malaysia who are currently being trained at the centre," he said. -- BERNAMA
