King Pays Last Respects To Malaysian Armed Forces Officer Who Died In Lebanon

ALOR SETAR (Kedah, Malaysia), Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah on Friday paid his last respects to the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) officer, Lt Colonel Habibullah Ismail, who died of a heart attack while serving as Staff Officer under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil). The King was greeted by Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak, who had also come to pay his last respects, and spent about 15 minutes at Habibullah's family house here. Also present were Army chief General Zulkefli Mohd Zin and Malaysia Prime Minister's Special Functions Officer Datuk Latt Shariman Abdullah. Habibullah, 42, breathed his last at Jabal Amel Hospital in Tyre, Lebanon on Feb 6. His remains were brought from Lebanon on a commercial flight which arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 8.30pm on Thursday before being flown here on a Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft C-130. Habibullah joined the Unifil mission since Nov 14, 2011 and was expected to return home on Nov 13 this year. -- BERNAMA
