Malaysian PM's Wife Receives Asia's Leading Women In Charity Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) --- The Prime Minister's wife Rosmah Mansor on Thursday night received the Asia's Leading Women In Charity Award, in appreciation of her dedication and commitment to charity works. Rosmah (sixth from left) is the first recipient of the award which was presented at the Gala Dinner held in conjunction with the Second Annual Women in Leadership Forum Asia 2012, here. The award was presented by the Chief Executive Officer of NASEBA (a business information company) Sophie Le Ray in a ceremony at a hotel, here Thursday night. The emcee of the ceremony Asha Gill, a Malaysia-based model, television host and deejay in her speech said that the award was in appreciation of Rosmah's contribution to the development of PERMATA (early childhood education programme) and charity works among others the Malaysia Aids Council and the Heart Institute Foundation. She said in future the award would be named after Rosmah. Meanwhile, Managing Director, for India, Middle East, Southeast Asia of Monster.Com Sanjay Modi said the award would energize women to be active in charity works and improve achievement in all fields. "I believe that women could be successful in all areas, including business and this proves that women have always had a high capacity," he said in his speech at the dinner. The two-day forum starting Thursday was attended by participants from Australia, Bangladesh, Thailand , Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
