MII Ceo Gets "Asia's Leading Women In Banking And FIinance" Award

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) chief executive officer Khadijah Abdullah has received an “Asia’s Leading Women in Banking and Finance” award in honour of her commitment and leadership values to the development of MII. The award is also in appreciation of her dedication in elevating the professionalism of the insurance industry in Malaysia and other emerging markets. Khadijah received the award, which was presented by the Prime Minister’s wife Rosmah Mansor, at a gala dinner held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Women in Leadership Forum Asia 2012 from Feb 16 to Feb 17 here. Turning around an organisation despite the lack of resource enablers, Khadijah has done an outstanding job in transforming a non-profit organisation into a recognised global institution with a record surplus. Her major contributions for the local industry include her untiring commitment to drive the human capital development of the Malaysian insurance industry, which in turn will drive key transformation initiatives for the insurance industry towards enhancing global competitiveness. Her leadership has propelled MII in the global stage with some countries adopting MII programmes as their benchmark standards. This significant contribution saw MII gaining recognition as the first Asian organisation to garner the prestigious “Professional Service Provider of the Year” award, which it won in London in 2007. -- BERNAMA
