KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- Eight foreign embassies in Malaysia are taking part in a two-day International Art of Table Setting Exhibition at the National Visual Arts Gallery here, starting on Tuesday. The exhibition was launched by Foreign Minister Anifah Aman's wife Rubiah Abdul Samad. "The countries participating in the exhibition are Argentina, China, Italy, Korea, Maldives, Pakistan, Palestine and the Philippines. "Through this exhibition we can expand our knowledge to better understand and experience each other's customs and culture," said Siti Rubiah. The event is organised by Perwakilan, the association of wives of Malaysian diplomats. Siti Rubiah said besides the exhibition there are also booths with goods for sale from various embassies and the proceeds will go to charitable causes. "We will be donating wheelchairs and hearing aids to senior citizens homes as well as provide financial aid for cataract surgery," she said. The exhibition is opened to the general public, diplomatic and expatriate communities to view creative ideas and show the participating countries' culture and customs through table setting. -- BERNAMA Malaysia embassies
