OIC-CERT Cyber Crisis Coordination Addresses Targeted Cyber Attacks
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation-Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) has successfully completed its first cyber drill themed "Targeted Attacks and Cyber Crisis Coordination" among its members Tuesday.
The first OIC-CERT Drill for 2012, participated by Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Oman, Pakistan and Tunisia, was aimed to assess the response capability of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) from respective OIC-CERT teams on targeted cyber attacks.
"As chair of the OIC-CERT, we are indeed proud to play host to this inaugural cyber drill amongst its member this year. We hope through this excercise, it will enhance the readiness of the computer emergency response teams in addressing the growing threats of cyber crimes," said Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia Husin Jazri in a statement here
Wednesday.
He said the drill had crafted a scenario where the cyber attacks targeted high profile parties and exploited unknown vulnerabilities with malwares that lead to information leakage yet tarnish the reputation of the parties.
