Seventy Turkish Firms To Participate In Products Exhibition At KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Some 70 Turkish companies are taking part in a three-day Turkish Products Exhibition to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from March 1. The Turkish Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission, Yasin Temizkan, said this is the third exhibition to be held in this country, and the companies taking part will showcase various products such as agricultural, automotive, machineries, building materials such as tiles and ceramics, food, textiles and cosmetics. The exhibition is organised by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (IOCC) with the cooperation of the Turkish Embassy, Yasin said, adding he hoped it will enhanced the economic cooperation between the two countries. In conjunction with the exhibition, a Turkish Art, Dance and Food Festival will be held at the Shook Restaurant, Starhill Gallery, from Saturday until March 3, except on March 1, Yasin told a press conference here Friday. He said the festival will showcase the diverse Turkish culture ranging from classical music, folk dances, arts and crafts, culinary delights to fine arts and architectures. "Two prominent Turkish chefs assisted by a team of 11 cooks, will display their culinary skills at The Shook daily during dinner time, and among dishes served is the famous Turkish dessert, Kanafe," he added. In addition, a well-known Turkish glass blowing artist, Nasuf Comert, 58, who has 42 years experience in the field, will exhibit his skills at the festival, along with marbling artist, Fatma Cakmak, 44. Yasin said marbling is the art of creating colourful patterns by sprinkling and brushing colour pigments on a pan of oily water and then transforming this pattern to paper. He also said a group of Turkish folk dancers will be performing various dances of the different regions in Turkey. -- BERNAMA
