IGP Conferred thai Royal Decoration

JAMALUDDIN MUHAMMAD BANGKOK, Feb 27 (Bernama) – Malaysian Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar was today conferred the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand. Thai Police Chief Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong presented the award, conferred by King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, to Ismail at the Thai police headquarters, here. The citation stated that Ismail has played an active role in promoting friendship and cordial relations between the two countries especially in the field of transnational crime suppression and prevention, which contributed significantly to peace and order in both countries. The Director of the Malaysian Police Special Branch Division, Akhil Bulat was conferred the Knight Commander (Second Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant. Akhil was also presented with the royal decoration by the Thai Police Chief at the same venue. Also present was Malaysian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Thailand Nazirah Hussain. -- BERNAMA
