Caykur Tea To Join Turkish Products Exhibition In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- Turkey's leading tea manufacturer, Caykur Tea, will be one of 70 Turkish companies participating in the Third Turkish Products Exhibition in Malaysia, from March 1-3. The state-run company is the largest and leading Turkish tea manufacturer with a daily processing capacity of more than 6,600 tonnes of tea. Turkey is the second highest tea market in the world with a per capita consumption rate averaging about 1,000 cups annually, about three cups per day. "Caykur Tea currently enjoys a 60 per cent share of the Turkish tea market and looks forward to expanding its business overseas. "This effort is in line with Turkey's aspiration of making its tea a global brand by 2023, in conjunction with the country's 100th anniversary," the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said in a statement, Tuesday. The exhibition, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is expected to improve commercial ties between Ankara and Kuala Lumpur. -- BERNAMA
