Hamdan bin Zayed: UAE among world's major supporters to refugees

Abu Dhabi, March 14, 2012 (WAM) - H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan received yesterday at Qasr Al Sarab Hotel Antonio Gutierres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees who is currently on a visit to the UAE. They discussed programmes and activities made by the UN to improve situation in poor countries and the support given by the UAE for humanitarian and relief efforts. Sheikh Hamdan said the UAE was considered one of the major supporters to efforts aimed at improving conditions of refugees worldwide, thanks to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
