Defense Min: Friends Of Syria Should Back Policy Of Reforms There

Tehran, April 3, IRNA – Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said here on Tuesday that friends of Syria should back the policy of reforms in that country and not allow the region to experience another sad event. Talking to reporters at the sideline of an international gathering on elimination of land mines, he noted that no big power has so far condemned terrorist operations in Syria. Such an attitude is unacceptable since in its hard core, it means supporting terrorism, the minister reiterated. Stressing that certain western countries favor insecurity in the region, the minister further recommended friendly and regional countries not to be deceived by the West in order to avoid mishaps in the region. Asked about the Zionist regime’s sale of arms to Azerbaijan, Vahidi said Azeri officials explained that such information were not true and that the deals were also magnified. The brigadier general then quoted Azeri officials as saying that Baku would never let any kind of military bases against Iran be established in its territory./end
