Lebanon Hosting Iranian Artistic Exhibit

Beirut, April 4, IRNA – An exhibition themed ‘Originality in Iran’s Contemporary Art’ featuring artworks by four Iranian artists is underway in the Arts Faculty of Lebanon University. The event displays artworks by Ehsan Yeganeh, Karim Mirzaei, Saeed Dehaqi and Hossein Ali Machiyani. Addressing the inaugural ceremony on Monday (April 2), chancellor of the university, Mohammad al-Haj referred to the historic origins of the Iranian art and said that the Arts Faculty seeks to promote interaction with various nations and communications between the artists and academicians. Given the two countries' cultural and historic commonalities, such events will hopefully be held regularly in a bid to promote educational cooperation, he said. Addressing the same gathering, Iran’s cultural attaché Salehi-Nia said that said that this is the third consecutive times that the event is held in Lebanon University. Pointing to Iran Cultural Office’s efforts to forge communications between Iranian an Lebanese universities, he said that the entity is ready to help promote interactions between them./end
