Slovenian MP Calls For More Economic Co-op With Iran

Vienna, April 7, IRNA – Slovenian Parliament Speaker Grigore Virant called for more economic cooperation with Iran. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Slovenia, Mohammad Rahim Aqaeipour. Referring to bilateral relations in different economic and cultural fields, Virant called for expansion and deepening cooperation between the two countries. He said having different viewpoints in some issues is natural, but this difference would not damage bilateral relations. Referring to economic program of Slovenian new government, Virant said that his country intends to have a stable situation with appropriate atmosphere for foreign investment to strengthen economy of the country and in this direction we want more economic cooperation with Iran. The Iranian diplomat, for his part, congratulated Virant on his new position as parliament speaker and underlined role of parliamentary cooperation in expansion of cooperation between the two countries. He added that there are many potentials for cooperation between Iran and Slovenia./end
