Minister: Persian Gulf Missile Shield, US-Israel Scheme

Tehran, April 10, IRNA – Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi described the plan by some Arab countries in the region to build a missile defense shield in the Persian Gulf as a completely American-Israeli one. The minister made the remarks here Monday after ceremonies to mark the 13th martyrdom anniversary of Ali Sayyed Shirazi who was one of the greatest army commanders during the eight year of war against Iraq. 'We advice our friends not not join the plan,' the brigadier general said. He said such a plan would not only be unable to provide security but would endanger the regional security./end
