340 Reporters, Photographers Covering Iran Army Day

Shahr-e Ray, Tehran prov., April 17, IRNA – Some 340 reporters and photographers from home and abroad are covering the grand ceremonies of Iran National Army Day currently underway in southern Tehran close to the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini on Tuesday. A number of high-ranking Iranian militarily commanders both from the Armed Forced Headquarters and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are present in the ceremony. Meanwhile, the foreign military attachés residing in Iran are participating in the grand ceremony held to celebrate the event. The military attachés are to watch the military parade to commemorate the annual National Army Day in Iran. The attachés are from various world countries including Azerbaijan, Indonesia, China, Turkey and Brazil. The ceremony on Iran’s National Army Day began in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, top military officials and the army commanders. Addressing the ceremony, the President hailed the might of the Iranian armed forces and highlighted their full readiness to defend the country against any threats./end
