Ghobash meets Labour Ministers of Philippines and Bangladesh

Manila - April 19, 2012 (WAM) - Saqr Ghobash, UAE Minister of Labour has hailed the Government of the Philippines for its cooperation in holding "Abu Dhabi Dialogue 2", which kicked off yesterday in the Philippine capital of Manila. Ghobash in a meeting with Philippines Labour and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz also stressed the importance of continuing cooperation in order to improve the conditions of labours and support the rehabilitation program of the Philippines labours before travelling to the UAE. He also noted the importance of Abu Dhabi Dialogue in the success of the contractual employment cycle for all parties. For her part, Rosalinda Baldoz welcomed UAE's announcement to host the permanent headquarters and the Technical Bureau of Abu Dhabi Dialogue process. She also commended the efforts of UAE minister in supporting "Abu Dhabi Dialogue" since its launching in 2008. Ghobash in a meeting with Eng. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Minister for Labour '&' Employment and Expatriate's Welfare '&' Overseas Employment in the Republic of Bangladesh, discussed cooperation in labour field between the UAE and Bangladesh. During their meeting here in Manila, the two sides agreed to start the rehabilitation of labours in Bangladesh before travelling to the UAE to find out better opportunities in the labour market. They also agreed to form a working group between the two sides to develop a framework for cooperation in the field of temporary employment. For his part, Eng. Khandker hailed UAE's support for "Abu Dhabi Dialogue" and praised UAE's announcement to host the permanent headquarters and the Technical Bureau of Abu Dhabi Dialogue process. He said that the dialogue will continue between the two sides praising the great efforts made by the UAE to improve Bengali workers' conditions reaching about a one and a half million. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
