Azerbaijan attends 54th meeting of UNWTO Commission for Europe

Baku, May 16 (AzerTAc). Representative of Azerbaijan`s Culture and Tourism Ministry Kamala Hasanova has attended the 54th meeting of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for Europe and a seminar on “Tourism branding” in Batumi, Georgia. The meeting heard reports by the Commission chairman Spyridon Parthenis on “International and European tourism industry: challenges and forecasts”, “UNWTO and the dynamics of tourism within the European region”. The UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai updated the attendees on international tourism in 2011 and prospects for 2012, programmes of work 2010-2011 and 2012-2013, specific UNWTO activities in Europe. The event saw “Tourism Towards 2030”, “Affiliate Members” and other presentations. The next meeting of UNWTO Commission for Europe is to be held in Turkey in May, 2013.
