VICE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AT ESCAP SESSION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs G.Tenger has expressed a position of Mongolia's government at the 68th session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) running in Bangkok, Thailand. G.Tenger introduced to the gathered a present socio-economic situation in Mongolia, policy and actions of the government, its further goals. He underlined that despite the growth of regional economic indicators, the region is still facing some problems such as crisis risk, a fluctuation of raw materials' prices, difficulties caused by the rise in consumption. He expressed a willingness of the Mongolian government to back effective measures and initiatives to be realized at the regional level. The Vice Minister hopes that the regional countries will contribute to making proper decisions on developing the green economy and on introducing environmentally-friendly technologies at an upcoming conference of the UN which will run this June to consider the sustainable development. He highlighted an importance of validating a multi-lateral treaty on establishing the International Think-Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and of realizing the Almaty Programme of Action on Transit Transport. The chairman of Mongolia's delegation G.Tenger has been acting as the deputy head of the 68th session of the ESCAP. B.Khuder
