US AMBASSADOR AWARDED POLAR STAR ORDER

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/. The Polar Star Order was bestowed on Wednesday upon Mr. Jonathan Addleton, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Mongolia for his contributions to developing the Mongolia-USA friendly relations and cooperation in socio-economic sector. After the granting ceremony, the State Head received Mr. Addleton in conjunction with the completion of his diplomatic mission here, and then noted that the 25th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations is celebrated this year. "You have significantly contributed to enhancing our relations during the six-year period diplomatic mission here. I read your book about history of the Mongolia-US relations. It was very interesting," the President said, adding that this book contributed to studies of the bilateral ties. In response, the US Ambassador said he was glad about working in Mongolia representing the USA, and also said that he sincerely respects Mongolian history, culture and tradition. Mr. Addleton noted that this year is marking the 150th anniversary of the first visit of an American to Mongolia, coinciding with the anniversary of the diplomatic relations. B.Khuder
