LG to release new high-end camera phones in Europe

SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc., the world's fifth-largest mobile phone maker, said Thursday it plans to release two new handset models in Europe that come with high-end camera functionality on par with stand-alone digital cameras.

The models -- the LG-KC910 and the LG-KC780 -- are both equipped with built-in
8-megapixel cameras which users can control through their touch-screen panels, LG
said in a statement. The models will be available starting Friday.
The LG-KC910's Xenon and ISO1600 flash functionality allows users to take clear
photos even in the dark. Users can also manipulate the pictures directly on the
camera. The model comes equipped with an MP3 player, and allows GPS and Wi-Fi
connectivity, LG said.
The LG-KC780 is optimized for taking portrait shots and has a "Smile Detection"
mode that automatically takes pictures when a person in the viewfinder smiles. It
also allows video recording with DVD-quality definition.
