Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Zavkhan aimag planned this year to do works with investments of MNT 54 billion 119.2 million. As of today, 75 per cent of the targeted works has been done with capitals from the local budget, and 60 per cent of works have been completed to transfer an authority to the aimag's governor. Thanks to nice weather and hard works, the aimag has grown all kinds of livestock--two million and 6,000 animals by the end of 2011. A number of soums with more than 100 thousand heads of livestock has reached eight. By the first half of this year, 762.8 thousand female animals gave birth, and 98.0 per cent, or 749.8 thousand, heads of baby animals survived. The aimag has planted potatoes on 277.4 hectares, vegetables-on 148.9 hectares, grain-on 325.0 hectares and fodder--on 420.0 hectares. ** ** ** As the aimag announced this year for Information Technology, a campaign has started to provide pupils with laptops. As of present, 3,500 laptops have been given to secondary schools pupils. In addition, 1,325 personal computers have been granted to schools and kindergarten teachers, accountants and managers of cultural centers. The aimag's 14 soums have been connected by fibre-optic cable as well. ** ** ** A work has begun to make a model village in Olziit baga (the smallest administrative unit in localities) of Uliastai soum. Construction already has started to 192-flat apartments and buildings for families, for primary schools and kindergarten. This year, Uliastai soum received four kilometers new paved roads. B.Khuder
