S.NYAM-OCHIR WINS FIRST MEDAL IN LONDON OLYMPICS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ An international master of sports S.Nyam-Ochir won the first bronze medal of the London Olympic Games for Mongolia in the men's 73 kg judo event held on Monday. S.Nyam-Ochir has won the 20th Olympic medal for Mongolia. In the first round, S.Nyam-Ochir defeated his opponent from Germany, and then beat Volodymyr Soroka from Ukraine. In the quarterfinals, the Mongolian was defeated by Mansur Isaev who won a gold medal in this event. He grabbed the bronze at the repechage round by defeating N. Delpopolo from the USA and a Dutch judoist Dex Elmont, twice silver medalist of the World championships. As of July 30, Mongolia is being ranked at 27th place alongside ten countries. B.Khuder
