STATE HEAD WANTS TO GIVE INCENTIVES TO MEDALISTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A cabinet meeting on Wednesday backed in principle a draft resolution initiated by the State Head on giving a direction to the government. The draft says that Olympic and World championships gold, silver and bronze medal winners will receive every month incentives, for example, for the Olympic "gold" MNT 3 million, Olympic silver--two million, and Olympic bronze--one million; the "gold" World champion in Olympic events--two million, the "silver"--one million, and the bronze medalist--half a million. The cabinet decided to submit a proposal to the initiator but changing the incentives for the Olympic winners--MNT 4 million for gold, 3 million for silver medalist and MNT 2 million for bronze. The draft also says that the money will be given from January 1 next year. In case the incentive receiver dies, his/her family can get a non-refundable aid equal to the one-year incentive. So far, Mongolia has 47 Olympic and World championships medalists. B.Khuder
