Z.ENKHBOLD VISITING AIMAGS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the Speaker Z.Enkhbold started his tour to the agrarian provinces from Bulgan aimag, getting familiarized with haymaking in Bayannuur soum. “Haymaking is done by some 100 people in 15 teams, we want to prepare 200-300 tons of hay so that tro be sure that we overcome upcoming cold winter,” said Sh.Enkhtaivan, the soum's governor. The soum wants to have low-fuel consumption tractors and techniques for the haymaking with long-period and soft terms, he added. In response, the Speaker said related Ministries launched a campaign to provide farmers with midget and high-efficient tractors, adding farmers should apply for the techniques. He suggested that the soum should plant alfalfa (fodder plant) because it is very fruitful to feed livestock. Apart of planting vegs and potatoes, people in Bayannuur soum actively participate in a project on reducing desertification, for example, they have sowed sea buckthorn for preventing desertification in frames of the Mongolia-S.Korea joint project. As of today, over 20 families have been planting sea buckthorn. After Bayannuur soum, the Speaker worked in Buregkhangai and Orkhon soums, and got acquainted with wheat harvesting and activities of the “Orkhon-esgii” co-operative. On Wednesday evening, Z.Enkhbold and accompanying him officials arrived in Erdenet city of Orkhon aimag to meet administrative officials.
