PRESIDENT RECEIVES PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received on Tuesday Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, the Prime Minister of Japan, during the general debate of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York city, USA. The State Head expressed satisfaction with a development of the Mongolia-Japan relations within the strategic partnership principle, and thanked Japan's side for rendering a support for Mongolia. Tuen he briefed on present socio-economic situation of Mongolia. "Developing the relations and cooperation with Japan is one of the priorities of Mongolia's foreign policy, our state gives a great importance to the ties with Japan," Elbegdorj noted. He congratulated the Premier of Japan on the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations and invited him to Mongolia with a visit. He asked the Japanese PM to help in augmenting a quota of Mongolian students studying in Japan. In response, Mr Noda congratulated the President on forming the new cabinet and parliament after successful parliamentary electiona, and wished Mongolia big successes. He noted that a speech the leader of Mongolia had delivered at Japan's parliament has brought a big achievement in the Mongolia-Japan relations. Mr Noda said their side has really appreciated an upcoming visit of the Mongolian Foreign Minister to Japan, hoping that it will significantly contribute to the relations. "We fully support the Japanese investments to Mongolia," he added. Mr Noda also congratulated the President on the brilliant success of Mongolian wrestlers of professional sumo. The dignitaries also shared views on the situation of East Asia, and discussed a collaboration within the United Nations. The President asked Mr Noda to pass his warm regards to His Imperial Majesty Akihito and expressed satisfaction with starting of talks on establishing an economic cooperation. B.Khuder
