MONGOLIA-US BUSINESS FORUM HELD IN LAS VEGAS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The sixth US-Mongolia business forum titled “Bilateral cooperation in the mining sector” was held on September 24 in Las Vegas, USA. This forum has been co-organized by the Mongolia's Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Mining, the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington D.C, the US Department of Commerce, US Department of the Interior. Opening remarks have been given by N.Ankhbayar, the Consulate-General of Mongolia to San-Francisco; and Nicole Melcher, a Division chief of the U.S. Department of Commerce in charge of Mongolian and Chinese affairs. The business forum brought together some 250 representatives from 40 companies such as “Erdenes”, ”Shivee Ovoo”, ”Mongol Alt” and “Energy Resources”, companies from the American side including the “Peabody Energy”, ”Rio Tinto” and “Caterpillar”. Within the forum, the participants have attended an opening ceremony of the “MinExpo International-2012” exhibition which mounted the most up-to-date mining techniques, facilities, products of over 1,800 enterprisers.
