STATE HEAD MEETS MONGOLIANS IN WASHINGTON

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Sunday, the President Ts.Elbegdorj held a meeting with some Mongolians living in Washington D.C.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the USA Mr Bekhbat said the State Head is intensively working on widening the Mongolia-USA relations and highly spoke a great attention the President draws to the bilateral ties in the politics, economics, culture, education and scientific fields.
More than 20 thousand Mongolians are living in 200 cities in the USA so far, about 3,500 of them are living in Washington D.C. Some twenty societies and association function among the Mongolians such as Center of Mongolian Culture, Commercial Chamber of US Mongolians and the Union of Mongolians in Washington.
Some 60 Mongolian children are studying in the Mongolian school in Washington, facing some difficulties, for example, a problem with using textbooks sent from Mongolia. A mentality of the Mongolian kids residing in the USA is a bit different from this of the children growing up in the motherland, so it is sometimes difficult to understand the textbooks, said the school director and asked the President to realize a project on working out textbooks for the "foreign" Mongolian pupils. The State Head said his Office will try to realize the proposals and request.
Then they exchanged views on the present socio-economic situation in Mongolia.
