Pakistani Analyst Sees No Justification Of Threats To Iran

Islamabad, Oct 7, IRNA -- Pakistani defense analyst on Saturday said that there is no justification of western threats to Iran as the country has always pursued a civilian nuclear program. Talking to IRNA, Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema, Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Studies at the National Defense University (NDU) asked West to change its arrogant attitude towards the Islamic Republic. “In principle, policy of threats is unjustified,” he pointed out. The analyst said that western states have to respect Iranian stance on nuclear program and stop threatening the Islamic Republic. “It is right of every country in the world to develop in all sectors and Iran is justified in developing nuclear technology for civilian purpose,” added Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema. The intellectual was of the view that Zionist regime has started a psychological warfare against Iran by issuing threats. “They want to demoralize Iran by such acts,” noted the analyst. He said that Zionist regime is a nuclear power but nobody is objecting to their undeclared nuclear activities. He added that the problem to West with Iran is that the country is not ready to yield to American pressure. He asked West to mend its ways with Iran. “Iran is a responsible state and the western behavior towards Iran is increasing friction in international politics,” he said. “Their behavior is totally wrong,” viewed the analyst. “West should resolve this issue with peaceful means, war in the region is not in the interest of any body”, Cheema said. He added that war is not the solution of any issue rather it creates more trouble in the long run. “War is not the positive approach”, he said. The intellectual said that it is very encouraging to see that Iran is progressing with a fast pace. “I think Iran can respond to any military misadventure in an effective manner,” added Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema. To a question he said that Zionist regime cannot do any thing against Iran. “They just want to get total US support,” viewed the analyst. Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema is a professor also a scholar of international repute.
