S. Korea`s Daegu Bank Q3 net gains 0.2 pct
SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Yonhap) -- Daegu Bank, a South Korean regional lender, said Tuesday its third-quarter earnings rose 0.2 percent from a year earlier thanks to increased lending.
Net profit came to 63.2 billion won (US$47.9 million) in the July-September
period, compared with 63 billion a year earlier, the lender said in a regulatory
filing.
Revenue soared 145.8 percent to 1.3 trillion won and operating income rose 2.7
percent to 88.96 billion won, said the bank based in the city of Daegu, about 300
kilometers south of Seoul.
"Despite growing financial uncertainty, expanded sales and diversified revenue
sources bolstered the bottom line," said a bank official.
Shares of Daegu Bank closed at 7,620 won, down 2.31 percent from Monday.
The lender's bad-debt ratio stood at 0.9 percent and total assets reached 28.9
trillion won at the end of September, the lender said.
