11TH INT'L SYMPOSIUM WILL RUN HERE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The 11th international symposium themed “The security of the Asian largest cities” will run in Ulaanbaatar on October 10-12 under auspices of the Mongolian President. Ten years have passed since the very first symposium in 2002 in Japanese Tokyo. This was followed by every-year actions Japanese Kobe, India, Singapore, Thailand, Bangladesh, China, S.Korea and others at which scientists and researchers have discussed their fundamental works into problems the largest Asian cities are faving and have exchanged opinions. The Ulaanbaatar city, which shelters a half of the Mongolian population, expects that the coming to the symposium scientists and experts with their experience and reports will help it deal with many problems such as air, water and soil pollutions, flood and earthquake dangers, extreme cold, traffic jams, extreme centralization, artificial need in hot and drinking water, in energy and food supply, a need in waste recycling points and so on. The city must develop its satellite towns, build metro, waste water plant, electric train lines and speed roads. A participation is expected of some 70 researchers and scientists from 16 countries.
