S. Korea's KT&G Q3 earnings gain 15.3 pct
SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- KT&G Corp., South Korea's biggest tobacco company,
said Wednesday its third-quarter earnings rose 15.3 percent from a year earlier
on increased sales.
Net profit stood at 228.8 billion won (US$167.6 million) in the July-September
period, compared with 198.5 billion won in the same period last year, the company
said in a regulatory filing.
Sales increased 3.7 percent on-year to 658.1 billion won, while operating profit
fell 1.1 percent to 230.4 billion won, KT&G said.
