Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ At its meeting held on Saturday, the cabinet called falcon as the national bird of Mongolia. An obligation was given to J.Sereejav, a head of the State Protocol Service, to realize a measure for approving a ceremonial rule to proclaim falcon the national bird in frames of the 850th birth anniversary of Chingis Khaan. Moreover, all people, organizations and entities have been urged to make the bird a symbol of Mongolian people's history, culture, unity and ideology of protecting nature, and initiate and implement various measures for saving falcons. Most countries have chosen their national birds and carry out activities to protect and save their birds. As of today, 87 nations have proclaimed their national birds. Since the era of Chingis Khaan, Mongolians have been cherishing falcons, considering it as the symbol of braveness and power. This bird is related to Mongolian history, nomadic lifestyle and the Great Emperors of Mongolia. B.Khuder
