Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolian aerobic athletes successfully competed in the 3rd Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships ran on October 17-21 in Palembang, Indonesia. Pupils from the city's schools B.Khash-Erdene and Kh.Sodchimeg won a gold medal in the pair's contest in the age division of 12-14 years. Another pair B.Javkhlantogs and Kh.Sodchimeg took 5th place in the same division. In the age division of above 18 years, an athlete O.Siilegmaa took 8th place in the individual contest. ** ** ** Judoists of the French national selected women's youth team arrived on Monday in Mongolia to have a joint training with their Mongolian counterparts. They have been invited by the Mongolia's Judo Federation (MJF). The group has comprised ten judoists and their three coaches. They intend to have the training for 15 days here. ** ** ** A delegation of Mongolia participated in the 29th council meeting of the East Asian Games Association (EAGA) held on October 15 in Tianjin, China. It brought together representatives from nine EAGA member organizations/NOCs and those from the Organizing Committee of the 6th East Asian Games to be held in Tianjin. The meeting, presided over by Liu Peng, President of the EAGA and President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, listened to the work reports by EAGA's Rules and Sport Commission and Medical Commission, and the report on Games preparations by the Tianjin Organizing Committee, and approved the Chefs de Mission File and Technical Mannual of the 6th EA Games. The East Asian Games, a quadrennial, multi-sport event organised by the EAGA, is one of the six regional Games of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The other five are the Central Asian Games, the South Asian Games, the South East Asian Games (or SEA Games), the West Asian Games, and the South Asian Beach Games. The 1st East Asian Games was held in Shanghai, China in 1993, followed by the 2nd in Pusan, Korea (1997), the 3rd in Osaka, Japan (2001), the 4th in Macao, China (2005) and the 5th in Hong Kong, China (2009). The current members of the EAGA are: China, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, Mongolia, DPR Korea and Korea. The 6th East Asian Games to be held in Tianjin, China on 6-15 October 2013 will feature 289 events of 24 sports including athletics, football, swimming and wushu. The Mongolia's delegation comprised J.Otgontsagaan, the secretary-general of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MonNOC); Ch.Nasanbat, a member of the Sports Hospital Commission of the EAG; P.Tungalag, a member of the Sports Commission; B.Narantsetseg, a chief of the Administrative Service of the MonNOC; and Ch.Amarsanaa, the secretary-general of the Mongolia's Table Tennis Federation.
