FOREIGN MINISTER IN VIENNA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In frames of his working visit to the Republic of Austria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold met on Monday with Mr Yury Fedotov, an Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV). They discussed issues on developing the cooperation between Mongolia and the UNODC and conducing a joint research on combating with the trade of counterfeit drugs, and then agreed with a necessity of making a progress in the matter in accordance with a previous cooperation agreement made during a visit of the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs to Austria. In addition, the sides considered issues on activating the cooperation within the International Anti Corruption Academy (IACA) and opportunities to co-implement projects. After this, the Minister held meetings with Mr Yukiya Amano, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA); and Mr Eoin O'Leary, the Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council and Ireland's Permanent Representative to the OSCE. He introduced to the IAEA Director-General a policy of Mongolia on the nuclear sector, and exchanged with him views on combating cancers, establishing a laboratory of vaccines against livestock diseases and producing some kinds of vaccines. They also discussed a matter on improving the public knowledge on uranium and nuclear technologies. L.Bold gave a report to Mr O'Leary on a course of the talks about making Mongolia a participating state of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). B.Khuder
