FOREIGN MINISTER HOLDS NEGOTIATIONS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In frames of a working visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold held on Thursday negotiations with Didier Burkhalter, the Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland in Bern. At the beginning of the negotiations, the sides concluded a present situation of the Mongolia-Switzerland relations and cooperation, and shared views on its further tendency. L.Bold expressed his satisfaction with an active development of the bilateral cooperation since establishment of the diplomatic relations, underlining that Swiss side has been supporting the democracy of Mongolia. "Thanks to an intensive development of our political relations, the countries have held high-level meetings several times as well as consultative meetings of the Foreign Ministries," L.Bold said, and expressed a satisfaction with implementation of some projects in the fields of agriculture, mining, vocational training and good governance in line of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). In turn, Mr Burkhalter congratulated Mongolia on successfully developing its democracy and realizing the policy on respecting human rights and freedom. He said Switzerland has an aspiration to fruitfully develop the bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Mongolia. The two sides reached an agreement to exchange a note on supporting each other at an election of the United Nations Security Council. In addition, the sides agreed to issue a preparation plan for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations to be marked in 2014. The Minister officially invited Mr Burkhalter to participate in a Ministerial Meeting of the Community of Democracies (CoD) to be held on April 29, 2013 in Ulaanbaatar. B.Khuder
