Thai PM to visit UK

BANGKOK, November 10 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to pay a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom, from November 12-15, at the invitation of her UK counterpart David Cameron, as Thailand and the United Kingdom are celebrating their 400th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. Thailand's newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, who is also Foreign Minister concurrently, announced Premier Yingluck's scheduled trip to the United Kingdom during the prime minister's weekly programme on Saturday morning. Surapong said that a group of Thai private business operators will also accompany Yingluck during her visit to the United Kingdom next week in order to explore opportunities to widen their trade and investment with their UK counterparts. According to the deputy prime minister, the Thai premier will also be granted an audience with UK Queen Elizabeth II, making her become the first Thai government leader in decades to have an audience with the UK Queen.
